An Ethos Grounded In Care

THE WORK:

Berkeley Unified School District 2025 Climate Fair, California USA

Efforts are currently focused on bringing teaching about repair into primary and secondary schools and educational non-profits. The work takes several forms:

  1. Offering the Educator Resource Library, a catalogue of (mostly) free teaching resources;

  2. Communicating the power of repair as a pedagogical tool, relevant to core curricula;

  3. Guiding repair advocates for impactful engagement with educators;

  4. Linking repair with Climate Literacy and Maker programs in the schools, and with environmental and making initiatives beyond the classroom; and

  5. Supporting professional development programs to help teachers adapt teaching about repair to their particular contexts.

Complementing that work, the Project supports local community repair events, advocates for repair at the state and local levels, and, as always, promotes repair as a social value whenever and wherever there’s an opening.
